Open Field
Open Field was inspired by the moment we learned that when you donate money to a woman in a developing country you change not only her life but the lives of everyone around her. The Royals read about this topic to try to understand it, and we gave money to several charities that advocated this line of giving, but it wasn't enough.
So we decided to publish stories and visual contributions from women about something that changed their lives. And we committed ourselves to giving away the money we raised from this activity of disseminating stories and images to a charity that changed other people's lives, specifically women's lives.
Nahji Chu has kindly agreed to share her story with us and will appear in Open Fields when launched as an iPad magazine late 2011.
All money raised from advertising, sponsorship and sales of the iPad magazine goes to women, via the international charity CARE. The money raised will assist in changing someone else's life.
With thanks,
The Royals

Three children are making lanterns for the Autumn Moon Festival. They become so involved in what they are doing, they forget their surroundings. This charcoal animation is about Nga Chu's (misschu herself) childhood memories of living in a refugee camp between the ages of 5 and 9, before coming to Australia.
To further her support for Open Field, Nahji would like to gift anyone who donates a minimum of $15.00 to CARE Australia with either a CD of her music or a copy of her Autumn Moon video.
Just send in a copy your invoice and postal address to nahji@misschu.com.au and we will dispatch within 7 days.
